Answers. You can exchange weapons at the General Store. Or if the sword is still on the ground, you can throw the axe while attacking with the ranged weapon button, then pick up the sword. Just stand over the sword with your axe unsheathed, the swap weapon option should be available.
Except for that one point, you can't lose your weapon in battle. Altair's Sword looks a lot like the common swords the guards sometimes carry so that might be it. Heavy weapons include swords and axes. They can be swift and deal low damage, or the opposite - slow with maximum of damage. There also are ones that balance these two factors. This kind of weapon can only be used by an assassin. The other personas can use it only if they have seized it through parrying, or picking it up from the ground.
Don’t. Only upgrade the yellow weapons. Everything else is usually junk. I usually upgrade every two or three levels. It’s important that you’re constantly upgrading your weapons and sourcing materials to upgrade your gear as you level up. Is that because you can get a 'deal' by waiting to upgrade every few levels for more weapon stats
